Steve Irwin's TV Show: The Crocodile Hunter
Steve Irwin once stated, “I have no fear of losing my life - if I have to save a koala or a crocodile or a kangaroo or a snake, mate, I will save it.” If one watched his show they would definitely be able to say that Irwin stuck to his word. Irwin was born on February 22,1962 in Essendon, Victoria, Australia and died on September 4, 2016 in Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia while filming a new episode for his show. He was a very well known zoologist because of his television show “The Crocodile Hunter”. Steve Irwin created the Australia Zoo in Queensland, Australia and taught people all around the world about wild animals through his television show. He also inspired awareness of these animals.

Many people have created something at least one time but not many people have helped create something as big as a zoo. Steve Irwin grew up in the town of Beerwah, Queensland where he lived with his family. Irwin’s family owned a small reptile zoo. As he was growing up Irwin participated in the Crocodile recollection program of Queensland, Australia. In the early 1990’s Irwin teamed up with a producer named John Stainton to film a documentary. On this show he taught people about wild animals like crocodiles and other reptiles. Although his show was loved by many there were also people who did not like his show. Some would say that he was getting himself too close to danger. This criticism did not stop Irwin from making more episodes for the show. Irwin ran into more critics in 2004 when he was holding his infant while feeding crocodiles. Some people said that it was child abuse, but Steve Irwin claimed that the child was never in any danger. Even more criticism came in when he was allegedly filming too close to animals in Antarctica. The show did not usually get many critics and was loved by almost everyone (“Steve

Charles parker was a brilliant jazz musician. He was so innovative and played with such genius that he has influenced all jazz musicians regardless of their time period. One can only speculate what might have happened with Jazz if Charles' life was not cut short due to intense drug use as was so common in the musician scene. Then again one can only speculate weather or not Charles' Jazz would have been as great as it was if it were not for the drugs that he consumed on a daily basis. Did the drugs make Charles' Jazz what it was or did the man have the built in ability to squeeze the perfect notes out of a saxophone making it do his will without hardly having to give it a thought.…

From the case, it is stated that Metropol Zoo has to make a major decision because of its poor performance over the past few years. External factors such as economy, government decisions, change in consumer behaviour and competition contributed to it. Now, it has to make a decision whether to take up virtual reality (VR) technology to make the zoo more appealing to customers or continue the way it has been doing business and stay true to its conservation mission.…

With warmth and intelligence Sir David has brought the world to our television screens, it is estimated that five hundred million people worldwide watched Life On Earth, yes that’s right five hundred million, this is truly amazing that one man has reached so many people around the world, I myself have viewed many of his TV series. Previously when studying environmental sciences at school I found my teacher’s and mentor’s teaching methods dry and an at times a bore. Sir Attenborough’s unique style of presenting has drawn my own interests to the Natural world. His influence in conservation awareness is one of the main reasons I myself have chosen to study towards a conservation degree. Do you know how many zoos we have exist all over the world? And do you know where and when the first zoo was built? If these questions are strange to you, let me provide you with more information about that. "Gardens and Menagerie of the Zoological Society of London" was the very first zoo to be opened in London in 1828. Since then, there are now approximately 2 millions zoos which have been continuously established for the purpose of drawing visitors and maintaining the animal race. Under this circumstance, many researchers give a considerable perspective that “Animals should be placed in zoos” People who support this idea think that keeping animals in zoos is the best way to protect them from illegal hunters. Nonetheless, people belonging to the opposite side, who disagree keeping animals in the zoos, argue that it is a physical impossibility because zoos are not natural animals’ habitat.…

Over centuries, dating back to ancient Egypt, there have been hundreds of thousands of different variations of zoos (Fravel). Zoos “have entertained millions with exotic animals behind bars” and continue to do the same in the modern day and age of zoos (Fravel). However, wild animals are not meant to be domesticated. For decades there have been thousands of serious zoo related incidents resulting in threatening situations, critical injuries, and even death because the animal enclosures were not secured properly and failed to keep animals and visitors separate from one another . In 2016 “[t]he heartbreaking news of the death of Harambe, a popular western lowland gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo, who was killed to protect a child who had fallen…

Zoos are for educational and viewing pleasure. For example, when I went to the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk, VA, I discovered an animal that I had never known about before. The Malayan Tapir is a very unusual, but exciting animal. It looks like a giant anteater and has an elephant -like nose. In the wild, tapirs can be found in the dense rainforests of Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia and Indonesia. Upon reading about and gazing at it, it opened my mind to the other many animals that there could possibly be. I thought I had been educated about the world and it’s animals, but to discover another animal brought back the excitement for learning. My daughter as well was excited to be there, but the education she was receiving was more advanced than mine growing up. Many elementary schools go on field trip to learn about animals. For some kids, they develop through interaction with the animals, a love for animals that eventually leads them to the occupational of animals. Veterinarians, Zoo keepers, animals trainers are all well rewarding jobs. Animal trainer Alex Lacey developed a bond with mixtures of cats-lions, tigers and leopards with just being around them. His father, a circus director, breed, trained…

All three sources, the video and the two articles, present their arguments using very similar approaches. First of all, they all intend the same audience. They all intend for their audience to be the public, especially people who owns the animal events and people who see the animals at these events. Though, they don’t exactly specify the audience, it is clear because these are the people that need persuading. In the sources, it is clear they are biased. In source 1, “The Use of Animals in Entertainment” it states,” So, next time you are thinking of visiting facilities that hold wild animals in captivity, or you see wild animals being used for tourism shows, make sure the facility is a member of a reputable association. Don’t attend shows where animals are asked to perform tricks. Finally, don’t have your photo taken with a captive wild animal.…

Modern zoos all over the world have been trying to shift their focus from pure profit and entertainment to things like conservation, science, education, and recreation, which can be ethically justified as long as they guarantee the welfare of their animals. They engage in research, preserve biodiversity (genetic and species) that may be threatened or at times even extinct in the wild, and they provide much needed funding for research and conservation projects across the world. Only a number of zoos worldwide are committed to enhancing the welfare of animals, acceptable standards and best practices but these are still under debate. The subject of capturing wild animals and putting them in cages, however, remains to be a hotly disputed topic…
