For example, successfully casting the spell causes a stinging sensation on the target's skin which can result in scorch marks and swelling. In some extreme cases it can even cause the person's
face to swell up so badly that their eyes partially close. To me, this seems like moderate pain and a major inconvenience?! If you compare the definition of a Hex to that of a Jinx, which is 'the lowest form of Dark Spell that does not cause much harm and is typically used as a practical joke, then the effects of the spell clearly fit into the 'Hex' category! After all, the above effects that I have just described are hardly ones that 'do not cause much harm' are they?
Also, I have considered the circumstances in which both a Jinx and a Hex are normally used. Jinxes generally are most often used when the spellcaster wishes to play a practical joke on someone or cause them to feel mild irritation and inconvenience. However, a Hex normally would be used as an offensive spell in combat situations or as a form of defense in a duel. So, going back to the effects that the spell has on its target, it would seem to me to that this spell would be most helpful during the occasions in which a Hex is usually cast.
