Stool Case Studies

Per patient’s mother, patient was in his usual state of good health until he started complaining of intermittent stomach pain for 1 week. Per mother, pt states “belly hurts” but he does not cries. Mother reports bowel movements about every three days and his usual bowel pattern is once a day. Stool is reported as hard and small, last bowel movement was two days ago. His symptoms were associated with straining, squatting, pain when passing the stool, and loss of appetite for 3 days. His symptoms are aggravated only when he is having a bowel movement.
