Then on this day the Patriots and Loyalists were bickering when a shot was fired into the crowd of the Loyalists and then someone had yelled “Fire!” and in the end, few Patriots were killed and some injured. Alec Waugh, a British novelist once said, “you can fall in love at first sight with a place as with a person”. A place can have so much character to not only make a person fall in love at first sight, but to keep that person entranced by love for the place. The city one might picture is Paris the city of love or the islands of Hawaii. However, this city is not the typical city that comes to mind. It is the city with busy streets and beautiful people, Los Angeles. The beaches of Los Angeles can be breathtaking, but it is the personality of Los Angeles that keeps a person around. A story based on a life of a Los Angeles native portrays the city as a land of opportunity.…

In “The Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin it starts off by letting you some of the characters such as her sister Josephine and her husband's friend Richards. They also make sure they to let you know that Mrs. Mallard, the main character in the story, “was afflicted with a heart trouble and that great care was taken to break to her as gently as possible the news of her husband's death” (Chopin 71). After reading this sentence I began to wonder how she was going to take the news of her husband's death. I thought she was definitely going to take it horribly and that it was going to affect her health somehow. Sure enough as soon as she heard the news “she wept at once, with sudden, wild abandonment, in her sister's arms. When the storm of grief had spent itself she went away to her room alone, She would have no one follow her” (Chopin 72).…

Learning something can be a scary experience. I Anyel Santiago, sale associate and a cashier in Old Navy, Dolphin Mall since April 19, 2013 I realize people can't manage their moods. The customers can be rude sometimes throwing the items on the cashier, some cut off other customers in line, some are so friendly that they make a half hour conversation with you, and some are just weird. But besides that, they'ress the people that live in the same world as I do. So, I can't change how they feel on a certain day. Heck, even sometimes I act in an unpleasant or pleasant way; when the situtation is opposite and am standing on the other side of the cashier. But since we're human beings and we encounter emotions; I know that everyone has their moments let it be good or bad.…
Mohat is a 52 year old man who presented to the Emergency Department by his wife Dorga, with chest pain and difficultly breathing. Mohat has been living in Australia for the past two years with his family and is originally from a tiny area in Africa. During triage, the nurse finds it hard to gather personal information from him due to his lack of communication skills and understanding of English. Therefore the nurse went ahead with her usual job without explaining the procedures to Mohat and later obtained results from his vital observations, which included temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and his respiration rate. She also managed to get an electrocardiogram (ECG) and gave him some 4L of oxygen via a simple facemask but Mohat felt very afraid. The nurse did not review his pain, because she couldn’t understand him very well. When the doctor reviewed him, he stated that his heart rate was dangerously irregular and had a high blood pressure reading, which accounted to his chest pain and difficulty breathing, therefore this was serious. The doctor immediately suggested that Mohat should receive some beta-blockers, which plays with the heart’s function, in the hope to reduce the irregular heart rate and blood pressure. Both partners stared at each other and looked worried, but there was more to it. The doctor gathered that coming from Africa, they were unaware of the Western culture medicines used now to treat certain diseases because this couple did everything naturally back home if they were to be sick. It was up to Mohat and his wife to make that critical decision, if they were going to go ahead with the treatment or…
