The article demonstrates the problem of discrimination against immigrants of color, which has been happening in the United States for a long time. It is hard for the immigrants of color to become employees and find a job. Thomas found the job in her field and improved her education at Northwestern University to achieve the MBA degree. Thomas had a good start before some problems came to her visa. H1B in other words is the visa for high skill people to come to the United States to work. If the government allows immigrants of color to stay in some positions and live here, they can transform society. Giving the immigrants of color point based on their education and their gifts to pick the brain of over the world; as a result, an immigrant of color who has many points can open the door go into this country. “Still, switching to a Canada-style points system would allow the US to take even bigger gulps from the rivers of talent flowing around the globe” (Smith 3). The immigrants with aptitude are more likely to come to the country where their idea can be accepted and improved by the government and they could have a good environment working. Some of the immigrants’ ideas was not useful in that country it comes from, but nobody knows if it is a worthy idea which can save and change the rest of the world.
