History of Judaism-The Story of Moses
One of the most influential people in the Jewish history is someone called Moses. He was the one who stood up to Pharaoh and led the Jews out of slavery in Egypt.
Moses Life
Before Moses was born, the children of Israel were living in slavery in Egypt. The Pharaoh was afraid of the numbers and put out an order to have all of the male children killed that were being born by the Israelites ("Bibleknowledge.com", 2005-2014). This all was happening when Moses was born and his mother was a Hebrew. As the story goes he found out later in life that he did not have the blood of an Egyptian but he was born a Hebrew. So Moses went back to his people and became a slaved during this time he saw one of his own being treated badly by an Egyptian and killed him. After the killing Pharaoh found out and sentenced Moses to the desert to live which is he did for forty years until God called upon him. Moses climbed a mountain and spoke with God which was a burning bush and God spoke out of that bush. He told Moses that he was to deliver his people from bondage. Pharaoh wasn’t just going to let Moses take his people since they were Pharaoh’s slaves. Moses and his brother told Pharaoh to let their people go so that they can be with their God and Pharaoh said no so this is when the first miracle happen. Aaron took Moses Rod and threw it to the ground and it turned into a serpent Pharaoh laughed said it was a parlor trick and threw two rods down which did the same thing accept Moses serpent ate Pharaoh’s serpents ("Bibleknowledge.com", 2005-2014). This was just one of many things that would happen in Egypt that Moses had to do to prove to Pharaoh that he was doing God’s work and he needed to let his people free from slavery. To be more specific there were ten specific plagues that God would strike Egypt with Moses there to see it through. The first plague was turning the waters red with blood Moses took his rod and the waters of Egypt turned into blood ("Bibleknowledge.com", 2005-2014). The second plague was frogs. God made frogs come up abundantly from the river, and these frogs then entered the people’s houses, bedchambers, along with falling on the people themselves. Still this wasn’t enough so the third plague came which was gnats and lice. God told Moses to have Aaron stretch out his rod and smite the dust of the land so that it will bring lice throughout the land of Egypt ("Bibleknowledge.com", 2005-2014). The
