Strand Eating Poetry Summary
The poem by Strand “Eating Poetry” is firsthand account from the guy who's eating the poems the relationship with poetry is the love he has for poetry It makes him crave so much that he feels he is eating it like food. Poetry brings joy to him and bring happiness it’s a way of expressing his feeling it makes him feel so good that he become hungry for the poetry and the librarian doesn’t see that love he has for poetry because maybe she hasn’t found something she loves as much as he loves poetry
My opinion is the poet isn’t physical eating poetry he’s using eat to show the consumptions of the poetry as he would with food he’s using eating to show how much poetry fills him up as food would when we like a certain food we keep eating it over and
over again because we like the way it taste when he mentioned the ink is pouring out his mouth is explaining how juicy it is to him and makes him want to get more in more into it he’s using figurative speech at that point.
