Time Available: 10-15 minutes
Space: Training room or outside
Appropriate for: 20 plus participants
Formation: Create groups of 10.
Instructions: Inform all participants in the training room that for the next 3-5 minutes they will be hearing some yells & screams. Now make group of 10 trainees’ & ask them to form a circle so that each of them can see the ‘EYES’ of the others in the circle. Tell them that you shall be saying 2 sets of instructions: ‘Heads Up’ & ‘Heads Down’. When you will say ‘Heads down’ everyone will look down & when you will say ‘heads up’ everyone will have to look into the eyes of ‘ANYONE IN THEIR CIRCLE!’ Possibility I: In case they are looking at someone who is looking at somebody else, nothing changes. Possibility II: In case they are looking at someone who is looking back into their eyes. Both participant’s will be required to either scream/yell as loud as the can & will be out of the game & leave the circle and sit together for the entire day! Do this exercise over and over again till all the participants are finished.
Briefing Questions: Ask participants what made this exercise ‘FUN!’ Was it anywhere related to stress or stress release? Did they feel light after this exercise
Analogy- Stress is a mental debris. Explain the 9/11 incidents. Can we construct anything over it? No. Everything has to be scooped out first to construct anything strong over it. It is with us. Scoop out all the worries and throw them out and then start working on means and ways to beat stress.
