Strong Connections And Loyalties In The Color Purple By Alice Walker

Throughout The Color Purple, Walker realistic shows the many strong connections and loyalties the characters have with one another. One strong bond that is shown throughout the book is between Celie and her sister Nettie. They always had a strong bond, even when Celie feared that Nettie was dead because they did not hear from each other for a long period of time. In one of Nettie’s letters to Celie, she wrote “But God, I miss you, Celie. I think about the time you laid yourself down for me. I love you with all my heart” (72) and in a letter Celie wrote to Nettie, Celie wrote, “Can’t nothing make me happier than seeing you again” (105).
