Why Graffiti is a problem? In the book At The Glance Crispher Grant in his story “graffiti talking: take a closer look”. Graffiti is any kind of drawing, writing or symbol that taggers (a name given to people who graffiti) use to put on peoples properties without them knowing. Graffiti could be something beautiful instead of looking at it, or thinking it is disgrace. Christopher’s suggestion is that one of the first steps is to educate the public about the graffiti. It’s meaning and its potential impact on a community. The community must understand this kind of behavior cannot be accepted because its dangerous nature threatens communities from within to discourage new graffiti. It is a serious crime and offenders will be punished and the student should be aware of that. Instructor should encourage an alternative method of self-expression. Graffiti done for art, poster, or even making a territory. My suggestion is, if the graffiti a gang signature, it is then related to violence in some way. Graffiti has a serious economic as well as psychological consequence in neighborhoods. In order to deal with graffiti, every one needs to be involved. Law enforcement alone cannot do the job. Dealing with graffiti must team effort involving law enforcement, city. Another way to prevent and clean the city from graffiti, they should paint and remove the graffiti immediately; this will help prevent more graffiti. Last and not least, people do graffiti for many reasons. There is always reason behind this illegal act. It is sometimes an outlet to their artistic ability, or maybe there are marking a territory. It is mean they are in some ort of gang. Graffiti isn’t bad, as it seems.
