Due to many injuries of the students while on field trips, a teacher’s responsibility includes exercising due care and preventing injury. A teacher must foresee possible accidents and work to prevent there occurrence. By preventing pupil injury the teacher is protected from being sued for negligence. A teacher must also provide full supervision on the students while on field trips. As a teacher, we should also be vigilant in observing suspicious strangers loitering around the students play area, especially on field trips.
Teachers and students have many different rights and responsibilities that come directly into play together. The responsibilities of teachers includes, teachers can be held liable for student’s welfare if foresee ability of such harm exists. If a student’s safety is put into risk by the teacher’s inability to foresee the situation as a threat then the teacher can be held accountable for the student. The issue of teacher’s responsibility is a cloudy subject because it is not always easy to say. Student’s right includes, when a student is given freedom and is corrects when they make bad decisions, then they will learn. Students should be given responsibility to an extent that way they can learn what responsibility is about.
As a teacher, the responsibilities influence the student’s rights because in order for teacher to maintain a child’s safety of field trips, the teacher must limit the student’s rights, so therefore, yes, as a teacher, I do have the responsibility to limit their rights. Student behaviors is not beneficial in a way that students may not have the chance first hand experiences that they would hope to have when attending school field trips. Minors have limited rights at best. One main example on any school campus is, Freedom of the Press, the only state that doesn’t allow that is in California.
As a teacher, it is fair to limit freedom. All teachers should notice all aspects of student treatments. The teachers should also a pattern for student in teaching their subject and also influence a pattern in behavior in any future student.
