College students today spend less time studying. In order to succeed in college, it’s very important to dedicate your time to work hard. Some students do not use their time correctly to study because they get caught in other distractions. Bad grades in college are results of not spending enough time studying. The social media is a time consuming for the college students. Spending an exaggerated amount of time on these social networking websites has a direct impact on the academic performance of the students. Partying in college and the students’ attitude towards their effort also affect the academic achievement.
A large quantity of college students spend more time navigating on the social networking websites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, than studying. That ends up harming them academically since they do not study enough to get good grades in school. Posting a status on Facebook, Tweeting about something, liking a picture on Instagram seem to be more important than studying or going over a textbook. social media has a huge effect on the attitude of the students toward their study time. The more time the students spend using the social media the less they study.
Partying has a big impact on why students do not invest on their study time properly. Some students prefer to go to college only because of its quality and quantity of parties. For some people, partying is what defines college. Sometimes partying is the reason why some people go to college, not caring about its academic status. There is no doubt that the student who likes to party too much ends up spending more time drinking alcohol than using his or her precious time studying. Alcohol makes the students lose their focus on studying. For some students college is a place to party hard, instead of studying hard.
