I believe that the doctors should complete several physical examinations including; range of motion tests, X-rays, and assessments involving how the hand feels. My plan to treat the injury consists of having my patient wear a splint for three to six weeks with every two weeks containing an X-ray to insure that the metacarpals are still in place.
