Substance Abuse Counselor Reflection

My experience as a substance abuse counselor intern with a rural non-profit substance abuse treatment agency afforded me the opportunity to effectively learn and manage many operational aspects of a treatment facility. The position provided me with an appropriate skill set to deliver effective substance abuse treatment services to individuals with a DSM 5 Substance Use Disorder diagnosis within an Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient treatment setting. As a Western Regional Drug Court Treatment Team Member and as the sole provider of substance abuse counseling, I was responsible for all aspects of treatment services.
