I decided to do the internship for the BAS Supervision and Management program in my own employment site. Florida International University (FIU) is an American public research university in Greater Miami, Florida, in the United States, with its main campus in University Park in Miami-Dade County. It is classified as a research university with high research activity by the Carnegie Foundation and a first-tier research university by the Florida Legislature. Founded in 1965, FIU is the youngest university to be awarded a Phi Beta Kappa chapter by the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the country's oldest academic honor society.…
If any single animal could be said to represent of the state of Texas, that animal could only be the iconic Texas Longhorn. Saved from the brink of extinction, this hardy and resilient symbol of Texas, is a uniquely American breed of cattle, easily recognizable worldwide because of the prodigious horn length of the breed, used by the males to protect the herd. Left alone in the wild, the Texas Longhorn can live for twenty years or more, although if domesticated and raised for meat, that lifespan shortens to three to five years. Classified scientifically as Bos taurus, the Texas Longhorn, and all variants of Bos taurus, maintain a close evolutionary connection with Bos indicus, as the two species can breed and produce viable offspring. The Texas Longhorn produces a unique beef when compared and contrasted with other breeds of cattle. The Texas Longhorn is a survivor, and the American grasslands have provided it with an environment with which it has prospered, and will continue to prosper in the foreseeable future.…
Trash, garbage, junk, debris-all alternatively known as litter-scattered across the 268,597 square miles of Texas on our highways and landscapes. Where former First Lady Claudia Alta "Lady Bird" Johnson aspired to see bright and colorful wildflower blanketing the great Texas countryside, oftentimes we only see disturbing amounts of garbage. This is what I aim to change. Through my school's Key Club I have had the opportunity to have a positive impacts in reducing the "over 435 million pieces of visible litter" covering "our empire wide and glorious." In the thirty-eight total service hours I have dedicated to both Texas Adopt-A-Highway and school wide recycling the amount of litter that myself and the generous volunteers…
Do not choose a college or university because it is popular, because your friends or relatives went there or because you are a fan of their football team. There are other important factors you need to take into consideration such as your funding, the kind of career you want or the area where schools are located.…

Bureaucracy within the government of Texas may be thought of as nothing more nor less than a form of organization. Bureaucracy is a system of government or business that has many complicated rules and ways of doing things. I will be exploring this interpretation of bureaucracy and bureaucrats within in relation to a system and rational factor. There are two models of bureaucracy, which are rational models and non-rational models. The lobbyist is an individuals employed by the interest groups who tries to influence the government.…
hy Sam Houston State University? Ever since I was in the 7th grade I have always dreamed about SHSU for my college. Of course, what I wanted to be changed, but no matter what the college never changed. My agriculture teacher tells me all about the college, and it makes me super excited to attend the college in the fall. This past summer my family and I toured the college, doing that made me fall in love with SHSU even more. The reason why I would love to attend Sam Houston State University is because it makes me feel at home, and they have a lot of school spirit.…
Altogether once all factors are contemplated, the options to study, the great possibilities, and the low costs, I would definitely argue to go to Texas A&M. Not only would you receive a great education, but you will have a good time doing it. There are also a lot of famous people that here, like Dude Perfect, Johnny Manziel, Rick Perry, Von Miller and many more. I hope to go to Texas A&M to join this proud line of Aggies.…
I’m about to do a research paper on The University of Oklahoma, in this essay I’m going to…
After highschool I went to the University of Kansas. Remember everyone else from high school went there to. That was a mistake, once I got there I soon realized it was highschool 2.0, and not the right environment for me. The reason I chose KU was because everyone in my family had gone there. They all told amazing stories of campus and Greek life. I had also been a fan of KU basketball almost my entire life, the words “Rock Chalk Jay Hawk” had been engrained in my head since birth. Sadly, I didn't base…
Live and Learn!! I hope to learn something new by attending college so that I can live the life I am wanting to. Texas Tech, home of the Red Raiders, is known to be one of the best universities in West Texas, and it will help me get the job I want and the job I will love doing.…
The event that I choose to follow summer fest was a simple and casual visit to the wellness and recreational center, fancy way of saying the gym. Upon my first ever visit to Florida International University I still remember at our freshmen orientation entering the gym and thinking to myself this seems like a place that I will be visiting often during my four year tenure at school. And boy was I right, the facility was clean and professional looking very much like a professional gym would appear, the staff where all kind and ready to assist you if help was ever necessary, something that I truly valued. I was extremely exited to take a spinning class at the FIU gym, I had only ever heard positive reviews and I was looking forward to the experience as well. Personally I am obsessed with fitness so any class, or activity is something that I love to experience which is what drove me to experience the class myself, and did, I love it. When I got out of that class I was sweating so much, I felt like I had gone on a run around the world and it so amazing, the instructor knew exactly what she was doing and had no problem helping you out if you needed it, the music was fun and exiting extremely up tempo. Overall I can only rave about the experience, it was positive and motivational. It has truly inspired me to no matter how stressed I may be I can always go down to the gym and relieve my stress while gaining a benefit as well.…
Abilene Christian University exceeds my expectations of a Christian University. I would like to go to a school that not only calls themselves "Christian" but actually acknowledges Jesus Christ as the rock of their school and education. Personally, God comes first in my life, a university that feels the same is absolutely magnificent! My beliefs are such that it is not about a religion but rather a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. I do not belong to a denomination, I belong to God only because the relationship that we have is much greater than any religious personnel could give me.…
Not knowing what I wanted to major in had held me back from going to a University. I wanted to transition into college from high school by going to Southwest. Along with the transition I wanted some time to figure out what it is I want to do in the future. Going to Southwest allows me to do just that and further my education next year at a four year University. Also financially, choosing Southwest for my first year is more affordable for me and allows me to explore my interests of study.…
