The video “Ain’t I a Women” was about how women were treated unfairly and didn't have the same rights as men. This interested me because I am teenage girl as well. I realized in the past, during the 1800’s women had tough lives and struggled everyday to gain rights. A significant scene in the video was when Kerry Washington (portrayed as Sojourner Truth) says, “he says women can't have as much rights as men, ‘cause Christ wasn't a women! Where did your Christ come from? From God and a women!” This was important because many people think that because a significant figure such as the president, or God, ect is a man than they are better than women. When she was acting as Sojourner Truth, you could tell she felt passionate about the topic and felt the pain and struggle women have been through. This video changed my view because before watching it I didn't understand the amount of struggle women had gone through. However, now after watching it I realize how important an issue this was. Without the struggle women and our ancestors went through in the past, we wouldn't have the basic rights we have today.
