Description of characters:
1. Lawrence Wargrave: Lawrence Wargrave was a retired judge. He's an older man with a dominant personality, and commanded the group when they realized a killer was after them. After reading on in the book, you find out that this “tortoise-like” man was actually carrying out these murders. He even faked his own death so he would be aquitted of all blame.
2. Vera Claythorne: Vera Claythorne was a former nanny, who traveled to the island to be a secretary. She was an intelligent woman, which allowed her to survive the longest on the island. She was the person to figure out the killer was following the poem “Ten Little Indians,” to kill the victims on the island. …show more content…
Dr. George Edward Armstrong: Dr. Armstrong comes to the island to check on Mr. Owen's wife who is supposedly ailing. He is a gullible man, who doesnt fully know who he is. These traits made him a suspect in the murders of the guests on the island. He was one of the last to die on the island. What was the mystery at the heart of the story?
The mystery was trying to find the killer. Only one person on the island (the killer) knew who was killing the visitors on the island. Everyone on the island was blaming another person. Nobody really trusted anyone. At the end of the book you find out that the killer is Lawrence Wargrave.
What were some of the clues that helped solve the mystery? There were a lot of clues in the book that you wouldn't notice until the end of the book. Some of these are when William Blore says there might be finger prints on the letter in chapter 3, and nobody but Lawrence Wargrave is alarmed. Also, at the beginning of the book Lawrence Wargrave is the only person to receive a letter not signed with “U.N.O.,” or any other form of “U.N.O.” Lastly, when most of the victims on the island agree to search for Lombard's missing revolver, Wargrave protests, but they search anyway. Why would he protest if he wasn't hiding
