After a few months, Billy visits the dogs’ graves and find a giant red fern; he learns from Indian legend that only an angel can plant it and he discovers that his dogs are always remembered. This story is ages 9 and up and is filled with compassion and empathy of a boy and the loyalty of his two dogs.
