IV. The two statues of Benjamin Franklin, which are individually unique, are contrasting due to their historical and social differences.
A. The differences between the two statues are significant in the way they each mark important points of not only Benjamin’s life but some key movements in his country’s history.
1. Benjamin Franklin was a famous native son of Boston, born and raised, from the eighteenth century and a key creator of the documents defining American democracy.
2. Pennsylvania is where Benjamin Franklin actively participated in local politics which eventually led to the creation of the United States of America.
B. The social nature of the two statues are not the same, as they were meant to attract two different groups of people.
1. The statue that has graced Boston’s historic Freedom Trail since 1856 is meant to attract people, who are native and/or visiting, to the rich history behind the life of Benjamin and how he has impacted our country
