How the Church Teaches
-churches have support groups for grieving families Comforting the sorrowful is one of the most important spiritual works of mercy. Everybody has been through a time when they were sad or going through a tough time, and often times people are comforted by family and friends. This spiritual work of mercy is not hard to accomplish, either. We can offer words of encouragement to those who seem discouraged. We can be present to those who are struggling or in emotional pain or despair.
