Summary Of Capitalism Has Lifted Billions Out Of Poverty
Jonah Goldberg was the author of, "Capitalism Has Lifted Billions Out of Poverty." In this article, Goldberg's central point is that, "Capitalism is the greatest system ever created for alleviating general human misery, and yet it breeds ingratitude (Goldberg, 3)." Capitalism is when a country's trade is controlled by private owners for profit, rather than the state. How could a system where an individual makes most of the profit and the majority makes almost nothing be the greatest? A simple answer is, that it can't. The capitalistic system can't be the greatest because while a couple are enjoying life in luxury, the majority of the people live in misery.
