Summary Of Enrique's Journey

In the fourth chapter of Enrique’s Journey I realized how well the residents of Veracruz worked together as a community to support immigrants in the best way possible. Although, reactions from residents vary by town this was the city that Enrique and many other immigrants appreciated the most due to their extreme generosity. Despite the fact that the residents were struggling themselves, they still went out their way to help the immigrants because they realized that the immigrants were dealing with tougher things than they were. While some did it out of pure generosity others did it because they too had children leave to the United States and they knew the struggles they had to face. Families were as kind as to wake up at any time the train would pass to through bundles of gifts to them such bread, tortillas, crackers, waters, and even blankets or sweater for the immigrants to distribute and live of off as they had nothing else.
Enrique has learned to accustom to every town weather, people, and territory. Through the hottest day and the coldest day Enrique manages to adjust to his surroundings alongside his friends on the trains. Through sweat and shivers he and the rest of the immigrants on board the train does as much possible to help each other out by either snuggling up close to each other in the cold weather or sharing the thirst quenching water during the hottest days. Every bit of knowledge the immigrants gain they share it with the companions in order to make the aware of the safe or dangerous zones. The immigrants’ support to one another really helps them along their journey although they know that alone they could get up north faster but if it were not for that support some might not make
