This reading is well structured and it discusses many points that are not talked about often. Pilardi provides examples to back up her statements in order to be more convincing for her audience. The perspective with which the author has written the selection, prompts the reader to consider and ponder about the situations discussed. Pilardi demonstrates that she dislikes those who discriminate against immigrants without taking into consideration that they make this country progress. For example she states, “I’d like to see Minutemen set up a chapter far from Arizona border and patrol Wall Street, binoculars in hand, to set their sights on those “illegals…” (Pilardi 2). Her tone allows her purpose to be more convincing for her audience.
