Back in the 19th century is when the first vibrator was created. Doctors like Mr. Givings had patients come in to be treated for hysteria by making the women have an orgasm. Doctors at the time weren’t aware of the weird symptoms that the patients were having, today presently it is known as sexual frustrations, but doctors called it hysteria. In the 19th century, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. Which allowed for the people of America and around the globe to enjoy light in their house without fire or candles. Back then people working would either have to stop their tasks, because of the dark or work in candlelight, but with the introduction of the lightbulb allowed for people working or not to be more productive in the evening when the sun went down. Another idea that was presented was wet nursing, which started in the 19th century to 20th century. Wet nurses were typically slave women. The students were well prepared in performing their lines, it can be assumed that the performers rehearsed tons in preparation for the showcase. At the same time, this was the second to last show, so it was most likely that the students were to perform well. Their voices of the actors were well projected in a clear and loud manner. Their attire and props truly put into the setting of what It was like in the Victorian era of the 19th century. When I read the script for the play beforehand, I had envisioned what the characters would appear like. Of course, when I saw the actors before my eyes I was complete shocked in an effective way to see which student would play each character. Something that I enjoyed about the actors was that the two main characters, Mr. Givings and Mrs. Givings were played of people of color, which was a shocker because in the cover of the play Mrs. Giving appears to be a white woman. But, I loved the fact that they switched those race roles, it made the play overall great. I was entirely pleased with how well the actors put on the
