“There are those girls who can handle a crane like a man, and those considered too pretty to learn. This conundrum of glamour and grime, of Miss America and Rosie the Riveter defines the America of 1941-1945, with it’s conflicting worlds of beauty pageants, defense factories, cosmetic adevertising, and scrap drives.”(Schofield) And still today the conflicting worlds live on, and the importance and recognition of the usefulness of women in the workplace has improved so that employers are able to acknowledge that women can work alongside of men. However, we must remember submission is the calling of all people. We must submit to God first and then the authority under God. While it was okay for early feminists to work, as it was their calling at the time, there was also a time for women to peacefully resign when needed to. And many women did. Beside the women who had to work for the rest of their lives, because of their social status, there were also those who wanted to stay working even when the men came back, instead of return to the home.
While this was a minor issue, feminism has developed to an unhealthy stage today, where we can see many women loving to defy men and God. God has called many women to be mothers within the home, and raise up her children in God’s name. Childless, single women may by all means’s be a member in the working class as they have no primary responsibilities
