Summary Of Sonit A Heartbreaking Film
This is a heartbreaking documentary ‘’Sonita’’, made by Rokhsareh Ghaemmaghami.
Sonita is a 14-year-old Afghan refugee in Iran and lives with her sister and niece. Sonita believes that she can be a rapper, She rappers about her life as a refuge and her struggles in life.

One day Sonita’s mother came to Iran to visit Sonita, her sister, and niece, but the main reason her mother came was to tell Sonita that she going to get married for $9000. Sonita did not want to get married. Sonita’s mother wanted to bring Sonita back to Afghanistan so she could get married but Rokhsareh Ghaemmagham (a staff at the school) convinced Sonita’s mom to keep Sonita in Iran for a certain period of time for $2000, the mother agreed and Sonita stayed in Iran.
