Summary Of The Blended Date

In the Blended Date scene, Jim has the 1st date idea of meeting at Hooters. A sports bar with waitresses who are dressed in very short shorts and tight tops does not necessarily leave a good first impression, especially when the waitresses are flirtatious and know him by name. He is dressed in his work clothing, Dicks Sporting Goods, which is a retail job. Assuringly from the outfit he is wearing, he is not very high ranked at the place. Given that he is alone initially, yet has two drinks, one of them which he finished, one could tell that she is running late to meeting him. He nervously taps the table after he ran out of his drink, and glances over his shoulder. After he looks at her drink and gulps it down. Noticing from his peripheral vision that she is coming he quickly finishes her drink and wipes his mouth, hiding the evidence and looks at the television. When she sits down, he tells her what he ordered for her but with him looking away makes it come across that he is very unengaged and has a disinterest in her already. She looks more put together than him, wearing causal business, button down shirt and a shirt with a purse. There is no doubt that people still have stereotypes towards those who are different than themselves, and racism has not completely gone away.
