A short scene in the film shows Aurora telling Jim to not fix the ship, which would cause him to be burned alive by the giant engine and instead let everyone die, but quickly Jim responds that there are too many people to just let die and continues with his mission (Passengers). What is interesting is, Aurora would rather have thousands die including Jim and herself than just him but either way he would die. This scene proves how different people are in this dystopian society unlike Feed. In Feed nobody would care to even save thousands of people, they would think its “null,” but in passengers they would do whatever it takes. Consider the final scene from the film, 88 years later, the passengers are awaken from hibernation and see what Jim and Aurora grew, beautiful green trees and plants all over the inside of the ship, it is like a giant indoor natural garden but in space (Passengers). This final scene shows a hopeful future, where everyone lives happily ever after unlike in Feed where the world is ending, people are falling apart, and Violet does not live. This shows the two types of dystopian societies that can exist in the future, either a horrible, or happy
