Summary Of The Movie Thesi Thesis
This film was directed by Alek Keshishien and is published on April, 24, 1994 by Warner Bros studio. This comedy-drama film was the only “college movie” where the student protagonists are concerned about both academics and attempting to grow as people. In that case, it is really easy for us to relate to the characters. And as we relate to them, we are already admiring them. For example, we admired Simon: a homeless man. It had a power to turn something trashy to something admirable and great. It’s so magical that by how hating someone can be wrong at the end. Because as in real life; we doesn’t have the right to judge others, without even putting on their own shoes and walking on their path. The first main conflict was about Monty’s thesis that Simon doesn’t want to give back. And they make a deal to adopt Simon in exchange of giving each thesis papers that Monty wants. As the story goes on, more problems are inserting: Jeff refusal on Monty’s plan, Simon’s leaving, Simon’s failing health and his death. …show more content…

More specifically: to graduate. Just like in life, we focus more on academic matters that we forgot the people that gave us the real meaning of it. The real life lessons and the experience, most of the times, it takes a great tragedy to understand what’s important. Simon also uses stones to remind him of a specific “memory”. We usually say that “Peoples change, memories don’t.” admit the fact that when you try to forget the person, their memory will somehow fade also, and in order to remember those again is to see that person or see something that really reminds that person to you. It’s about reminiscing memories just like what Simons’ stone

Traces of the old insecure Simon remained in times of stress such as when talking to Young about Ronna in the bathroom. Overall he gained the confidence that he lacked thanks to Rob although it wasn’t enough to make him his own person separate from Rob’s control at least not until the end of the…

The film also portrays the stereotypes that were used against the group of Asian American friends. At a party, a couple of white varsity sports players made racist jokes against them, but that caused Daric, one of the main characters, to fight them and the Asian American group ended up beating one of the white varsity players. After that, people at the high school started treating them with more respect. Another interesting aspect about the movie was that there were no parents. I felt that this brought all of the attention towards the struggles that the high school students felt, without being repressed by the perspective of the parents. I enjoyed this film very much. I thought it was very funny and was also very accurate on portraying the stereotypes that Asian American high schoolers had to go through.…

I am very sure that what students learn in school or by reading history books is a whole different thing to what real historians do. Historians travel a lot and try to see all the places where something happened in order to make their own picture of those places and happenings. Of course nobody can see everything or sometimes the places are not anymore like how they were back then. Also, in most cases there are no people alive to interview as a primary source. And at that point the historians start working. They have to find old letters or diaries or something else from that time. Simon writes about that process as the only way to really find out what happened in the…

Simon Glass’s character in the beginning of the novel was the typical nerd who gets made fun of and pushed around. Simon Glass was an insecure person and resulted to him to having no friends. “What's the deal, Rob? You just woke up this morning and decided Simon Glass was your best buddy?” Simon is confused why Rob wants to be his friend because he's the school nerd and Rob runs the school (22). Simon gets accepted into the group and is now liked by people. Overtime Simon starts to get more comfortable and changes more into Rob saying “This was all Lance. I didn't make him do anything. I just gave him the rope to hang himself” (130). It's now Simon who knows what it feels like to be in control and wants more if it. But not everyone liked that idea and not everyone liked the new Simon. At the end of the book it seems everyone likes Simon and he's taken over Lance’s spot. Nobody really knew what happened behind the scenes. Rob did change Simon but not for the better. At the end when Rob was beating Simon he shouts “Christ, what a group we've got here. One is the son of some kind of faggot, another who's so chicken that he ought to be a woman, and you…” He jabbed his finger in my direction. “One who's such a pussy that he gives up his girl because somebody told him to. And to think, Young, it was all for nothing. Ronna’s gone and Simon Glass has her and all you're left is shit. Tell us how…

The way the writer presented the sociological issues, which includes bullying, weight obsession and peer pressure, was truly compelling. The pressure of wanting to fit in, can affect a person’s life a variety of ways. Some people are strong enough to overcome the obstacles, while others are lost upon the way; moreover, in the movie both different personalities were presented through the main character. There are lessons that are taught throughout the movie, the most crucial one of all is to not let society interfere and set a norm in which must be…

The quote “ Memory of the dance that none of them had attended shook all four boys convulsively”, is a very important detail to the death of Simon. This quote means that Piggy, Ralph, Sam and Eric knew about the dance that they were pretending to know nothing about. In addition it was haunting them as they taught about it. When Golding writes this quotes he wants the readers to imagine the boys standing next to one and other with paleness on their faces and horror in their eyes.…

Simon wants us to be reborn into people such as Adam, Eve, or Gilgamesh. Their ancient stories of defeat and triumph have been transcended and retold for centuries to serve as a model for humans to replicate. Simon is writing this poem because we need to retrace our steps and go back to a place where people acted like Adam, Eve, Gilgamesh, and Noah. Simon believes "we obey oblivion's drowsy enticements because we may so effortlessly close the pages of the past". She is commenting on human laziness and selfishness. We will listen only to the point where we think we have gotten all we can out of it and the moment we reach this realization we shut the door on everything else because we have acquired the bare minimum. We barely listen to these elaborate mythological stories, expect them to instantly change our life, but then we do not create any mythological stories of our own that can be retold and passed down. We are not creating history, we are merely relocking in the history created by those who came before us.…
