Melissa started at with her clothing neat and in place but by the end of the play she was free from constricts, such as letting her hair down, removing the bandana from around her neck and untucking her shirt. I believe the director stayed extremely true to the language and intention of the playwright, showing that deciding between abortion or not isn’t as black and white as it seems and it is possible to have to mind sets about it. I believe in music, that music is how we express ourselves and when we can’t find the words to say it can do that for us. Melissa’s Choice moved me by reminding me the power of words and relationships with others, that the world isn’t black and white and cannot always be looked at rationally. I do believe this play is important know because while I may be pro-life I wouldn’t force someone to not get an abortion regardless of the risks it runs. It’s important for people to realize that while it may be an easy choice for one to make, it’s not easy for another and there’s a story as to why. I feel like it was influential because we weren’t so far away from the action or the story line, we were drawn in because we were so close to what was happening. Not that it was necessarily appropriate for the audience though because I don’t believe most college thinks about the issue unless they are personally affected by it or they know someone who is, but I do feel like the play did a good job of interesting people in the
