Issue: The case concerned the right of Mr. Watson right to protest against the Brown Corporation. Mr.Watson says that the Brown Corporation has been attacking him because he posted an article about how their products aren’t really real and they have been selling the people fake products. Watson’s claim was the Brown Corporation was taking his 4th Amendment protection away from by them constantly coming after him because he posted the article about their Cooperation.
The Story….
Mr. Watson a true man was always looking for ways to help his poor town out. He always did go fund me pages to collect money for his town. He also gave to the poor to help them sustain their lives. But one day Mr.Watson was walking through the dirty town square when he notice a crowd forming in the central square. That moment he was shocked by what he saw.
A group of rich men known as the Brown Corporation had stop in their town to sell their product that was supposed to help make more money. But Mr.Watson knew that personal money machines were illegal in their state but his people were so dumb they had no clue what the rules were. They were all eager to spend every last penny they didn't realize that the product was a fake. Mr.Watson the only wise one the town knew he had to do something about it but he didn't know how to inform the people because they had no knowledge of anything except reading. That night he started trying his article informing the people what the Brown Corporation really was trying to do. He explained that they weren’t here to help them they were here to take their money away so they could be even richer then before. After he posted it hoping it would explain everything to his people but he didn't know how this was his start of his court system
adventure.
The next morning he got an email form the Federal district court saying that he had to come in because the Brown Corporation was suing him for telling fibs about their products. The case was going to be an original jurisdiction because they had a court West were he was. So it was going to be tried their and determined by the judges if Mr.Watson was 4th Amendment was being broken. Mr.Watson arrived when Mr. Brown did both of them having their lawyers ready to defend them. The case was a fast one with the court's decision favoring Mr. Watson.
Mr. Brown and his lawyer weren't to satisfied with the results from the court case so they ask for an appellate jurisdiction to have their case heard from a different court that was in in the 4th circuit in the Court of Appeals. But Mr.Brown wasn't a patient man and decided to ask to make an appeal to the Supreme Court ot have their case looked at. If the rule of 4 justices agree to listen to the case then the Supreme Courts issues a Writ of Certiorari. To get all the information from the lower courts.
Both sides had to submit written briefs identifying their evidence to prove why their argument is better than the opponent. During the case they have 30 min to talk on stage to the justices and explain their argument to them. Following the oral arguments the Justices usually meet in a conference to discuss the arguments from both sides. This is were the Justices pick decide and make a majority vote what side they are going to side with.
The majority opinion for the case was a 7-2 favor for Mr. Watson rights being taken away from him. The Dissenting opinion was that Mr.Brown was doing the right thing and protecting his Corporation but he was doing the wrong thing by attacking Mr.Watson 4th Amendment freedom of speech away from him. This known as the precedent because of Mr.Brown's actions towards Mr.Browns post
