Summary Of Would I Let My Son Play Football
With reading the article “ Would I let my son play Football”,I came to a consensus that I would let my kid play football. “ How can I bash a game that produced so many friendships, paid for my education, and helped me become comfortable financially” .( Fujita 3). I agree with this article’s statement because football has helped people pay for college and help build their respective careers. Football has also made many people financially stable after playing in college and moving on to the NFL. “Football isn’t for everyone Scott ...but it was definitely for me”. (5). With Football not being for everyone, it is still made for some people, and if my son/ daughter wanted to play football then it would be made for them. The people that are made

Personally I would let my child play Football even after reading the article. In Scott Fujita article “Would I Let My Son Play Football” on page 3 it states “produced so many friendships, paid for part of my education and helped me become comfortable financially”. This shows how much good can come out of football. Football helped in school a lot, Scott got help paying for college so it wouldn't be such a hassle. In Scott fujita’s Article “Would I Let My Son Play Football” it states on page 2 “ I love playing on sundays, I loved the paychecks, I loved the guys in the locker room”.…

After reading and analyzing “Would I Let My Son Play Football” by Scott Fujita in the New York Times, I would most definitely allow my son to play football if he wanted to. I am a firm believer in letting children express themselves and participate in fun, wholesome activities. As a former football player stated, “Football gave me so much. How can I bash a game that produced so many friendships, paid for part of my education, and helped me become the comfortable financially” (Fujita 3). There are very little programs or organizations that can provide so much for you.…

Would I Let My Son Play Football? My answer is yes, but at the same time there are plenty of risk that come with this decision. There are plenty of many cases where a student was injured playing this sport, but I would still let my son play football. In Scott Fujita’s “Would I Let My Son Play Football” he gives us plenty of insight on football and the injuries that can occur at any given moment. I’m very aware of all the downfalls that come with football, but there all lots of plusses that are not usually never broadcasted.…

After reading Scott Fujita’s “Would I Let My Son Play Football,” I would allow my son to play football. Fujita says, “ Here I am questioning whether children should be playing at all, and I’m basically selling the game to children watching at home.”(Fujita, 4) Here, Fujita is contradicting himself, and it shows that even a former professional football player can’t hate the game, despite the harm that comes with it. Fujita also states “.... most parents with young children who played football were most interested in my workout regimen and what supplements I was taking (Fujita, 2).” According to Fujita, football has given him the chance to be stronger, in a physical manner. After seeing how fit football players are able to be, it attracts me…

Football, like every sport has its risks, but so the players should be able to make their own decisions when it comes to whether or not they play. To most people football is just a game where people throw a ball and tackle each other, but to certain families and people it is more than just a game. It is a way of a life and there is more to risk out on that field than just winning or losing. There are repercussions if we were to cut out the game, football players and others gain from the game, and it brings people and communities together in unimaginable ways.…

After reading the article “Would I Let My Son Play Football?” by Scott Fujita, I would definitely let my child play the sport ,despite the fact that the sport has many negative side effects. What is really hypocritical to me is when Scott states “No.” (Fujita 2), when he was asked if he would let his son play football. I disagree with what he said because he played football his whole life. How is it possible that he loves the sport, but would not allow his child to play? One quote I do agree with is when he said “..now I actually get paid to talk about football on television. Imagine the hypocrisy”(Fujita 4). I agree with the quote because it is ironic to me how he was an NFL player and loved the sport, but is now talking down on it and realises…

The research topic that I will be investigating is the relationship between high impact sports and their negative health effects, specifically the effort to make these sports safer. The research that I looked at in the past went slightly into the effects of these sports on children. It also made a point of criticizing society on why we feel the way that we do on this issue. Mainly, why we tend to care more about our health in regards to many other issues. The article Don't let kids Play Football, by Bennet Omalu does a good job of providing evidence and reasons on why not to let children play football. My current belief on this issue though is that while these sports have many negative effects, they are too ingrained in our culture to ban…

I know in my hometown Greensboro, NC at my school James B. Dudley High School football is like the heart to the school. So hearing that the risk outweigh the benefits to young people playing certain sports would make an out roar in the community. Knowing football players myself I know athletes feel that playing football grows their character, meaning if they get hurt it makes them stronger as a person. Also with athletes they have self-discipline and a higher self-esteem as athletes have a roles in their sports, as everyone has their own job in the sport. But also there is cons of being an athlete such as head trauma. As in “Big Hits Broken Dreams”, we go through a story with Kwan Waller suffering from multiple head trauma, as they didn’t have a athletic trainer on…

Does the motivation change? Does money alter the way you play? We’ve heard many horror stories of professional athletes worth millions of dollars accused of “not playing hard”. Although we both know that everyone plays football because they love it, are their motivations different each game? It’s football either way, but why do so many Americans enjoy the game football? Why do some prefer college over professional and vice versa? The answer to that can be answered differently by…

One major part of my life that had molded me and changed the way that I am is playing football. The reason that I believe that this has helped changed me in many positive ways is that it helped me to work harder and changed my perspective on many beliefs. Another reason that I feel as if football is so important to me is that it helped me bond with my teammates, which also helped changed how I am as a person today. Like many sports football begins to take over your life around the time that it begins, from the beginning of June until the middle of October or possibly longer, it is what almost all of you time and energy is pushed into. Putting so much time into football over the length of your career changes the person that you are and how you think. There are many downfalls that begin to appear with spending this much time with sports and that is another counter-argument that is used against letting children play sports like football. With all the time being spent on sport there is less time for kids to do homework or socialize with other children. If a child is determined enough they…

Football is a sport that America has grown to love, and for myself, I have become passionate about the game. I Have played football ever since I was a little kid around the age of 8 or 9, ever since then my love for the game has grown stronger and stronger. But, there are many hardships that come with the game of football. The workouts are intense and can take a toll on ones body, and coaches make you do things that are very inconvenient to build up your mental toughness and character as a football player and as a man. The issue in this paper that I am going to discuss is about myself and football, dealing with the hard 6am workouts over the course of the school year and even worse, in the summer time. It is very hard waking up for football workouts and lifts at 6 in the morning when a teenage to early twenty year old kid wants to just sleep and get some rest. Although sleep is great and we all love to sleep I sacrificed some of my sleep time to better myself, my strength, and my skill level for football. Doing all this was not easy nor did I enjoy doing it at some times. And this was my issue, the game of football I loved and it gave me many pleasures, but the offseason work also gave me many pains, aches, and was not fun all the time. This is the issue I am going to write about, how football gives one many pleasures both good and bad, and many pains both good and bad. And how I had to view the issue dealing with the pros and cons of the pleasures and pains in which it gave me.…

In India, sports other than cricket are not considered a serious career. Today, a young school-going boy who is exceptionally good at football and has great enthusiasm for the sport is still discouraged by his parents from playing football for a living. This is because the parents feel that football is not a lucrative career option, as the players don’t earn that much money. So, the child is forced to give up the sport and focus on his education instead.…
