Tennis is a sport that has many unique benefits. It is a very physical activity that really works the cardiac muscle. The circulatory system which is propelled by the cardiac muscle will transport nutrients, including oxygen, to the working muscles and remove the waste products including carbon dioxide and water away from the working muscles. Tennis places a high demand on the cardiovascular system, more so in singles than in doubles. The running in tennis improves endurance. The quick spirts of running is similar to interval training. The continuous training lowers resting heart rate and blood pressure.
