Large corporations give a lot of money and huge audiences to the artists who work hard and deserve it very much. The article "The New Necessity in the Music Business" also voices "For artists serious about their careers, turning down any form of corporate sponsorship or licensing agreements could be a mistake. At times, it’s not only necessary, but a smart way to make it in today’s music business"(Coates). So, having signed with a corporation is very beneficial, and gives advantages to having attention and cash. Even though, advantages are given, those are shrunken when the thought of artist freedom is put on the table. The passage "The Changing Landscape of the Music Business" writes "Artists must develop an image that appeals to their fans in order to remain unique and authentic, or they risk striking the wrong chord, which could leave them struggling to sustain careers in this new business landscape"(Carter). Specifically, it is saying music artists need to keep true to themselves and their fans instead of risking all of it for money, they will be mostly likely to lose more fame by selling themselves to companies. The music industry is filled with a lot of options, but the one to be taken should be to keep artists to their own work instead of selling themselves for the wrong
