Checking the weather on Google has become the first thing I do when I wake up. From that moment until the time that I fall asleep, numerous occasions require me to use Google for various purposes. Think about your daily routine, now imagine not being able to use Google or any Google products at all. Would you still be able to get through your typical day with ease? Would you be able to complete work, be up to date on the latest news, or navigate your way to a destination without Google Maps?

Easily, Google fits into this idea. People tend not to wonder how the creation of Google happened or how it works. Rather, Google has become an expectation. Society expects Google to find us the answers to what we want when we want it. If perhaps the server crashes or something takes a long time to load, most people tend to get frustrated and give up. According to an article about internet loading time, statistics show that 40% of people will leave a website if it takes longer than three seconds. Three seconds does not give a lot of time for a browser to load. However, since Google has become mythic having Google take any longer than this is thought of as absurd. As Eric Schmidt, Google’s executive chairman, once said, “The Internet is the first thing that humanity has built that humanity doesn’t understand…”. Although humans created this complex technology, society still does not fully comprehend the invention and most likely never will.
