Acrylic Landscape Painting
Where did your idea/image come from? Is it your own image or did you use someone’s artwork or photograph to work from for a practical exercise? Briefly describe the image? (colours, the scene itself) (5 marks)
My idea/image came from a social media app called instagram, and the image was take in Lake Minnewanka in Alberta Canada. I did use someone else’s photograph. The individual who took it remains unknown, however their instagram account is earthpix, and I wanted to use this image because it has a lot of textures in the mountains, and I just wanted to play with textures a little bit for this assignment. The image itself has very cold tones, such as blue, white, gray, etc. …show more content…
What title would you give your artwork? (1 mark)
I would name my artwork, Winter Wonderland, because of all the snow and the ice, as well as the mountains and the cold tones, such as blue and white.
8. What information would you like viewers to know about your artwork? (3 marks )
I would like the viewers to know that I spent a great amount of time on this painting, using various techniques such as blending and scumbling. I have also spent a lot of time mixing different shades of colours especially for the mountains. And finally that before I started painting the landscape I practiced in my sketchbook before hand.
9. What is your favourite part of your art (section, style…)? Explain what you like about it. (4 marks)
My favorite part about my artwork is the style which is realism. I like the act my artwork looks like a real place because it shows a lot of movement within the picture, especially the clouds and the water. I really like the mountains because I have added different shades of colour, and I feel like I really blended the colours in the mountains really good.
