This was important since his stories changed from past to present all throughout the article. If he wouldn’t have chosen this strategy his article would have fallen apart after the first paragraph. One type of transition he used was putting several spaces in-between his paragraphs. Since Lindberg told many different stories about his vacationing in Maine; this was helpful for me to follow and stay connected as he went from one story to the next. Lindberg paragraphs did not have good transition sentences paragraph to paragraph so the extra spacing was again a good strategy he used to separate his ideas when he started a new paragraph. For example extra spacing was helpful in-between paragraphs 5 and 6 Lindberg jumps quickly from talking about vacationing in Pine point in paragraph 5, to how other people chose to travel to different places like Tokyo or London in paragraph 6. If he didn’t use the spacing the two paragraphs would not connect to his purpose and would have confused me. He also had to use transitional words such as “Over time”, “after”, and “later” to help me understand the timeline he was talking about in his paragraphs. His stories from Pine point went back from when he was an eight year old boy to now a grown man. Therefore Lindberg using these transition words helped allowed me to picture if he was talking about a past experience or a more recent
