Survival is the only way humans cease to exist, it is the only way we stay on this planet so we do everything we can to survive through both the ups and downs of our lives. Survival is vital to humans and so believe it or not when we do things like finding shelter in danger and eating food when hungry we are doing this to stay alive because to us that is more important than anything else. The tragic story of a young teenage girl named Anne Frank trying to survive while being a Jew during the time of the Holocaust was shared through the finding of her diary. The diary put us all in her shoes so we can have a way to be able to really feel the emotions of a teenage girl going through the horrors of living in fear of being executed just because she is Jewish, and eventually she was. At the age of 7 Krystina and her family moved out of their home, in the ghetto, into the sewers underground along with 20 others. The sewers were wet, dirty, and cold, they were definitely not a place where people should be living but it was the only way for them to stay alive. Krystina witnessed horrors that no girl her age should have to go through and she had to live not being able to see the light of day even once for 14 months straight. In hiding Krystina and the others lived off of the little food given to them from the pipe workers and many nights were sleepless and uncomfortable. When it was finally safe for her and her family to go back up to the real world she was so happy but her brother cried.
