There are some eco-friendly fabrics out there today that we substitute for cotton, because it is a better for athletics and other things and does not absorb as much water. “A wide array of natural fibers-some old, some new-have become increasingly popular with consumers and manufactures, including wool, silk, jute, corn, flax, and soy”, this further proves my previous statement referring to substitutes used. They have other produces like nylon and polyester, which most people tend to avoid, but they are made in a eco-friendly environment as well. That being said it’s not just environmental but it is also about “being fair to fellow human beings”. That being said they want more of a safe product for people to have in their homes. In conclusion, sustainability gives us a foundation to living happy healthy lives. Such as keeping the people safe, and not abusing needed resources to sustain life. They more eco friendly options than using cotton for clothing, which is also used in the fashion industries to sustain a form of balance.
