Course Description:
This course is designed to develop knowledge and skills of the students in accordance with industry standards. It provides computer hands-on activities which give students the opportunity to apply and practice the basic troubleshooting procedures and techniques. It also provides the students with an understanding to help enhance their knowledge and technical support skills in installing, diagnosing, and maintaining the good condition of computers.
Overall Objective:
They will be equipped to become future computer professional with adequate knowledge and skills in computer troubleshooting and maintenance which currently are in the core of operations of most establishments and enterprises.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the semester, the students will be able to:
1. Understand the basic troubleshooting tips and techniques on major parts of a PC.
2. Understand the common symptoms and appropriate diagnosis of a certain computer problem.
3. Plan and prepare in diagnosis of faults for a computer system.
4. Recognize and apply the safety instructions.
5. Diagnose faults and correct defects in computer systems.
6. Test systems for safe operation.
7. Apply preventative measure to keep PC away from intruders and computer viruses.
8. Demonstrate and apply the basic diagnostics and troubleshooting procedures and safety tips.
