Symbolism In David Bowie's Song 'Heroes'
My theme song is "Heroes" by David Bowie. This song best represents me because it's about how even though things might not go your way, for one day you can be a hero when you're with the one you love. "Heroes" also represents me because most people forget about what you can do even when you're going through hard times and for me if something goes wrong, I just power through and just think of how relieved I will be when it's all over. Also, a lot of people want to be something great or remembered like a hero, but something usually stops them such as stage-fright, being shy, or just being scared or overwhelmed with all the publicity. But, "Heroes" proves the fact that if you really want something, you can have it. It may be hard but you're going …show more content…
Also, in "Heroes" David Bowie says, "I can remember standing, by the wall and the gun, shot over our heads, and we kissed like nothing could fall,". I think that this means that if you're really sad or have a big problem (represented by the guns) that you can do anything with the person you love just for one day. David Bowie is expressing the importance of believing in yourself. He is also showing the world how bad life can be if you don't trust the person you love and if they don't trust you. I have tried to live my life by this motto because I believe that if you truly are in love with someone and they are in love with you, you both should trust each other completely. Also, you both shouldn't get mad about little things or bumps in the road because when you are in love or are with the person you love, you can do anything including being a hero. This song is my theme song because it proves a lot of things I believe in including trust, love overcoming all, to believe in yourself, and most importantly, even when things get tough, you can be a hero just for one day with the person you

“The practice of cloud-seeding garnered considerable attention in the run up to the Beijing Olympics.” Jonas had asked the giver why are there no colors. The Giver said, “Our people made that choice, the choice to go to sameness,” (Lowry 95). This describes how in Jonas’s community there is no climate as the community made the choice to have this type of climate control; and this exists in our society today. In The Giver, Jonas finds out that his community doesn’t know what the meaning of color and the feeling of it. Climate control still exists in our world today.…

Imagine a song that reminds you of the early Saturday mornings where you sat staring at the television screen watching one your favorite cartoons as everyone in your house is fast asleep. Now imagine that you're an adult, you're stressed out, attempting to balance your responsibilities and trying to figure out what the heck to do with your life. You sit at your work desk staring at the computer, you're longing to be a kid again, young, free-spirited, free of worries and ready to take on the world and make it a better place. Now imagine a song that brings both your childhood and present worlds together and allows you to be your inner-superhero and conquer the world-that song for me is “Wonderful Everyday: Arthur” by Chance the Rapper and The Social Experiment.…

This song enhances human understanding by telling what is really happening in the world; the status quo of our society. Some of us tolerate the injustice and violence that we see on TV, social media, and the like, but this song reminds us that we are here to spread love, not violence, hatred, and pain. This song just helps us realize that what most of us tolerate is wrong by showing how these issues greatly affects the youth, races, and the rest of the world.…

The 60s, for some, can be remembered as a wonderful time, symbolizing a decade of love and harmony, where music brought one another together. Others remember this time as a decade of America’s moral decrease, with the dawn of rock and roll and the "sinful", inappropriate culture that it generated. In 1969 somewhere between 40,000 and 50,000 people gathered at Woodstock to celebrate their music, their love, and their freedom in the concert that has remained one of the most influential events of the 60s. “Some say [Woodstock] symbolized the freedom and idealism of the 1960s. Critics argue that Woodstock represented much of what was wrong with the '60s: a glorification of drugs, a loosening of sexual morality and a socially corrosive disrespect…

When reading the Red Badge of Courage, it is necessary to understand the symbolism that Stephen Crane has created throughout the whole book. Without understanding the true intent of color use, this book loses a meaningful interpretation that is needed to truly understand the main character, his feelings and actions. Crane uses very distinct colors in his text to represent various elements that the main character, Henry or "the youth", is feeling along his adventure of enlisting into battle. Red, yellow and gray are the main color's Crane uses consistently in the majority of the chapters to describe Henry's inner conflicts and feelings. The color purple is mentioned very briefly but reflects Henry's feelings in a powerful manner. Certain colors dominate throughout the book and there is a change of domination as Henry matures into a real soldier.…

If my life were a soundtrack, then on December 5, 2001, at 4:38 am, the first song would have started being recorded. I believe that my soundtrack shows a pretty wide variety of music because my life is made up of a bunch of crazy little elements. There are a few musical theater songs in my soundtrack because I believe that the songs from these productions have the best themes of all. The theme for my life soundtrack is to be yourself and it’s based on my second favorite quote by Dr. Seuss, “Why fit in when you were born to stand out!” So, let me entertain you with my life, because if it’s not interesting, it’s at least a little bit funny.…
