Symbolism in this story can be interpreted many ways. Rain in this story is the very important because in the beginning, the rain represents the sadness between the hidden affair that was going on between the professor and the narrator. Rain in this story also mean the starting of the new like towards the end, when the girl figures out that the professor isn’t what she wants.
