Once her father dies, She did not want to be with anyone and she did not want to accept the fact that her father had passed. Years pass and she meets a man named Homer Barron, she falls in love with him, but unfortunately he does not feel the same way. He does not tell her because he only wants to use her for her money; Miss Emily found out by rumors and she was very furious. She decided to buy some rat poison so she can take care of the problem;
Once she does, the neighborhood noticed a weird smell and complained about it. She was still very upset because the city authorities keep telling her she has to pay her taxes now. Miss Emily kills Homer, but still does not want to be apart from him so she keeps him in a bedroom and sleeps with the dead, rotten and smelly human body for at least 40 years.
