SYNOPSIS
SYNOPSIS: LOVE AT THE CORN HUSK One day, Constantina Tirol, also called as Tinang, visits her former master, Señora, whom she was working for before she got married. While carrying her baby boy, she walks through the entrance of the house of her former Señora and meets his former young master, Tito, and the Señora. Upon getting inside the house, Señora asks her some questions how her married life is together with his Bagobo husband and also how is it to be a mother of a baby boy. Their conversation continues and they reach to the point of talking about the tractor drivers of Señora, especially the one who was good, Amado.
After that, Tinang finally tells her former Señora about her intention of being there. The baptism of her baby is about to come and she wants Señora to be a Madrina or a Ninang to her child. The relationship between Tinang and her former Señora with her family remains good. And so, Señora hastily agreed to be so and yet wants to provide baptismal clothes for the baby and the fee for the Priest. Before she left from Señora’s house, she was told by her that there is a letter for her in the drugstore, which also serves as the post office of the barrio. By that moment, she thought that someone might be dead or maybe that letter comes from her sister. So she hurriedly takes her way home and passes by that drugstore to get the letter.

As she continues walking in a muddy road to her way home, she tries to look for a placewhere she could lay down her baby, hoping that she could read the letter before she arrives home. Finally, she finds a good place where she can stop for a while. There is a Kamansi tree and under of it are scattered cornhusks. So, she prepares a heap of it using her foot and laid her baby upon it. Then, she starts reading the letter. After doing so, she finds out that the letter is alove letter, her first love letter, which comes from Amado, her boyfriend, saying that he does not want to break up with her when he left from the field

The book I chose to read was “When I Say No, I Feel Guilty” by Manuel J. Smith. The first thing to stand out to me in this book was it seemed a little outdated. Even though the writing style and the examples appeared to be from a different era, I was still able to see how different points were relevant today and to me personally. This title screamed my name when I was browsing the list of choices because no matter what I am saying no to, I always feel guilty.…

Yes I do believe that the military will be excepting of a culture changes. The culture of the military is forever going to be changing. It may not be as great as desegregation, woman’s rights, or as great as the LGBT movement. The world is changing and if you do not change with it you fall behind. I think the military is more open to change now than it was back in war ll. I do believe the military we able to handle the culture changes that it counters in the present and future. Because of what we've learned with in our own country. This will benefit us when learning other cultures around the world. We have never fight a war in our own country. So we should be open to new cultures if we are going to be in other countries. So times I think that the United States thinks it’s the only country in the world and that other people do not matter. Life outside the states if very different and uncommon to us. If we do not know their culture then how are we to understand who they are, what they believe in and why are they are fighting. This will help the goal of the military if the soldiers are well educated in the culture that they are fighting against. In many of the videos we watched in class a number of times the soldiers were talking to the local people. This is where I think educating the soldiers really…
