The history of America is colored with deep systematic injustice towards people who helped build our nation. Such deep rooted is not uncommon in nations around the globe. In Ta-Nehisi Coates The Case for Reparations, he highlights the United States’ treatment of African Americans as one of the clearest examples of injustice in the history of our nation. For a nation to grow and come together there must be reparations in various form to correct these past injustices. He presents several types of reparations that could ease the white guilt, as well as acknowledging the effects of racism towards African Americans. One type of reparation he discusses is a financial one involving calculating the wag gape between white and black Americans, the difference would go to African Americans for perhaps ten years or so (Coates). A financial reparation not only recognizes the past of discrimination in the workforce that largely caused poverty in black communities but it would also aide poor black Americans that have suffered because of this discrimination. The bill calls for the simply studying of reparations for African Americans. The passage of the bill to Coates would be quite
