My Name is Taher AlDabbagh, I am Saudi citizen who loves learning about different cultures , I have a relatively good exposure especially to Western Europe and North America as I have visited the largest 10 counties in western Europe , USA and Canada several times , I have obtained this exposure from the business trips I had with Unilever , Microsoft and now with Mobily, In addition to vacation trips.
I started my career mainly in sales function, I enjoyed moving to Marketing and business development as it provided me with the chance of dealing with several international companies , this was a major step that helped me increase my exposure, I would defiantly plan to continue in business development function , more over in order to increase my network and relations I had volunteered in several activities with Riyadh chamber of commerce , this has also provided me with the chance to meet with different delegations visiting Saudi and obtain better exposure. I can also improve my exposure by Reading and observing , I still remember about 15 years ago my first time to deal with Chinese team when I was asked by a friend to support him in the commercial negotiation as he wanted to establish a JV with them , it was my first time to deal with Chinese and we tried hard to read their feedback during the discussion but they kept a “Poker Face” all the time.
Globalization is a universal trend today, and for Today’s Manager to succeed they needs to develop a deep understanding of the cultures and norms of their partners and customers, also they need to fully understand the business conduct, rules and regulations of the countries they are engaged with, they also need to be ready to learn and adapt and demonstrate Flexibility and openness.
