"Go," she whispered to Lucah, her voice barely audible. She thought she got her point across to him with that one word, and her thoughts were correct. He grasped her hand that held her locker, as if saying goodbye, and she placed it in his hand. She closed her eyes as tears ran down her befoulded, beaten face. She felt his hand leave her grasp and she knew before she opened her eyes, he was gone, the most important thing to her in his possession.

Tamera Banks was an easy person to point out in a crowd. She was beautiful and she knew it, and her everlasting smile seemed to make everyone smile back; her life didn't give her a reason not to smile.
And then her parents died.
She finds herself at a devastating funeral with no one who actually
knew her family, but with strangers in a crowd that could only see her pain. They didn't feel it or understand it, it was a crowd of people who didn't know her or her parents, much less love them. Foster home to foster home, she follows a path to the bad life she was thankful she never had.
