04/02/2013 Pottery and ceramic have profound relationships with China, even the ceramic can presents China. The development of pottery has a significant impact on human culture, I really like the pottery and glaze called “Horse” which found in mid-8th century. It is a kind of handmade glazed work of exquisite craftsmanship. From the art history class, I know some of the potteries were made in a low-temperature and added lead-glazed. Then people mixed different metal oxides after calcination. That is why the pottery looks like pale yellow, sienna and brown. That is similar series of Tang tricolor of China that left me a deep expression in my childhood when I took a study trip to Luoyang. The series of tricolor horse is colorful. Generally, It can be made as animal, tools and characters. That is related to the history of China. Ancient people used horses as an important transportation tool. Because farmer needed horse to plow the field, army needed horse during the war, and people delivered mails and messages by horse. The shapes of horse unearthed more. Secondly, I saw the shapes of camel. That is related to trade in ancient time. Camels trekked as transportation along the Silk Road. According to the note, we know pottery horses were used in the tomb as the symbol of wealth. The natural postures of horses reflects changes from preceding dynastic traditions.I also saw animal shape potteries nearby. The pottery absorbed the advantages of Chinese painting, sculpture and carving. It features animal figures, exquisite techs, carving traces and smooth lines. We can see the high quality craft in
