A task-centered supervisor has a strong tendency to emphasize the technical aspect of the job. People-centered supervisor emphasizes interpersonal relations with the employees that he or she leads. I think that employees would prefer to work with a person-centered supervisor because they tend to care more about if employees have a good relationship with their coworkers and the costumers. Task-centered supervisors
do not worry about this they just want the job done by the deadline.
Nonverbal messages can be helpful for a supervisor to reinforce what is said in words. The supervisor can use a firm voice tone, body posture, and facial expressions to show the employees that he knows what he is doing and that he is confident. Employees then will then trust the decisions and leadership of the supervisor when they see his confidence expressed by words and nonverbal messages.
