The HER2 has the potential to carry the cancerous cells in it. The HER2 gene is a 185-kD transmembrane glycoprotein which contains the cancerous cells, and the overexpression of it can cause major problems. It is overexpressed in 25-30% breast cancer issues and thus plays a vital role in the pathogenesis of breast cancer. To analyses the relationship between the effects of Taxol and the HER2 expression, a study was performed at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer center. The HER2 expression was studied in 212 patients having metastatic breast cancer. The results showed that 35.5% of the patients responded to HER2 negative tumor while 65.2% to positive tumor. It was concluded that the patients with positive response to the tumor were supposed to respond to the Taxol drug while the negative response couldn’t respond to the drug. This proved that the Taxol drug has the ability to destroy the cancerous cells growing in the HER2
